About the Artist Susan Cooke Peña
I began painting as a child and won a city-wide scholarship to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston at 10 years old. My artistic abilities originate from my parents who were both classical musicians. I have done various commissioned pieces, portraits and custom jewelry/merchandise. Well known clients include Amy Grant, Styx, Sonny Emory (Bette Midler, Earth, Wind and Fire and currently Eric Clapton), Hank Williams Jr. Band, Mother's Finest and Paula Deen. Other commissioned work include a painting for Craig Biggio of the Houston Astros (presented to him on the field), Cynthia Cooper former MVP of the Houston Comets, charity events and free lessons in my city. Favorite projects include creating concepts/merchandise for benefit concerts.
I have had several television appearances including Great Day Houston, "Mirror Mirror" (national show), ABC News and the Fox Morning Show.
My work has always interlaced with music, God and love. I am currently writing a book entitled, “I miss me. Lost and found at Paisley Park." My vision is it will be a bestseller and become a movie one day.
Remember to tell people you love them for this is just a spec in the spectrum of eternity. 💜
Create. Love.
